Holywell Town face Penrhyncoch in the Huws Gray Alliance League on Saturday looking for three more points.

We were excellent against Llandudno in a game where it would have been easy for us to take our foot off the pedal. This game will be a contrast in styles but we’re out to win, especially after drawing against them twice last season
- John Haseldin - Manager

The match has been switch to Bala Town’s Maes Tegid after the poor weather over the past couple of days will have put the game in doubt. The Wellmen played Llandudno Junction on Wednesday night and ran out 8-0 winners and confidence will be high of getting another victory against Penrhyncoch. Wednesday’s victory saw the Wellmen remain in 6th place in the Huws Gray Alliance League with 45 points from 22 matches. Victory on Saturday could see the Wellmen climb back to 3rd place if the other matches go our way.

Penrhyncoch, who currently are 12th in the league, will not be easy and are currently in a good run of form after winning 3 and drawing the once in their past 4 games, which has seen victories over Llandudno Junction, Queens Park and a good victory away to Holyhead Hotspur, with the draw coming at Caersws. Jon Evans is their top scorer with 11 goals this season.

The Wellmen will be hoping for goals off the strikers, with Shaun Tuck, Mark Winslade, Sam Jones and Lee Davey all on the scoresheet on Wednesday evening’s victory over Llandudno Junction. Town will once again be looking to be tight at the back after Wednesday saw Town’s 5th clean sheet of the past 6 games. Danny Desormeaux is expected to remain in the starting line up on Saturday and Matty Kendrick is available after missing wednesday nights win.

Manager John Haseldin expects a sterner test on Saturday to Wednesday night’s game from Gari Lewis’ Roosters side.

Haseldin said: “Our pitch has cut up pretty badly, so we’ve provisionally booked Bala’s ground as a back up. Wherever we play it’ll be a tough game - I’ve played against Gari in the past and he’s got his team playing in his own image. They’re strong, aggressive and play with a never-say-die attitude for him.
