Holywell Town come out on top in local derby

Holywell Town picked up another victory in the second local derby in a week.

The Wellmen hosted Mold Alex at Halkyn Road and ran out 2-0 winners courtesy of a Shaun Tuck double.

Tuck, who scored a hat trick on his debut last week at Buckley, could have had his second hat trick in a week but he had a goal disallowed by the match referee. Tuck also had a great effort come back out off the crossbar which would have been a just reward for his performance.

Graeme Williams and Lee Healey also went close for the Wellmen and Mold had an effort come off the crossbar themselves on 65 minutes.

The Reserves match at Castell Alun was disappointingly called off late on Friday night as the League had swapped the match referee who was down to do the game to another game and no replacement was found. This isn't the first time this has happened to us this season and all involved with the club are disappointed with these decisions due to the time and effort that goes into these matches only for them to be called off last minute.
