The Wellmen, a goal behind at half time, score two second half goals to secure a 2-1 victory.

"Don't think anything beats winning football matches, great result for us today, got to keep it going now."
- Steve Thomas - Captain

The first half was evenly balanced, with both sides creating chances, Shaun Tuck, Steve Thomas and Ross Ankers going close for the Wellmen. But it was the visitors who took a fortunate lead on 37 minutes, when Cai Jones' shot took a wicked deflection and the ball ended up nestled in the corner of the net with keeper John Rushton wrong footed. The visitors could have increased their lead shortly afterwards but Chris Jones fired over the bar when it would have been easier to score. On the stroke of half time, Town nearly equalised but Phil Lloyd's shot across the face of goal only needed a touch to steer it into the net, but the onrushing Brady McGilloway was unable to create that killer touch.

The second half started in the same manner as the first, with both teams looking to get the next goal. Paul Williams coming closest for the Wellmen but his volley was well saved by goalkeeper Richard Harvey.

Manager John Haseldin's inspired substitution saw the Wellmen equalise. Matty Harvey was brought on in place of Paul D Williams, and he rose well to head home Steve Thomas' equaliser - not a bad way to get your first touch of the ball!.

Shaun Tuck, back after a 4 match ban, then had a couple of chances which neither hit the target, but he made it 3rd time lucky on 71 minutes, picking up the ball on the edge of the area before shooting past Harvey to give Town the lead before celebrating with his team mates.

In the dying minutes, Porthmadog looked for the equaliser but Town held on to take all three points after a brilliant second half performance.

Manager John Haseldin was full of praise for his side, tweeting later, "Gutsy performance and brilliant second half from the lads, great team spirit on display coming back from a goal down. The celebration for the winner was 1st class, everyone together shows how much it means and what everyone is putting in to turn things round!

It also felt like a home game that today , good atmosphere helps so much when things not going for you. Back to back wins and we are up to 6th!"

Gareth Sudlow also took to twitter and said, "Brilliant result from the Holywell Town boys. Everyone digging in for one another, great comeback boys. And the fans were amazing as always".

The Reserves travelled up to Hawarden Rangers and took the lead through a great Wayne Edwards free kick. Two late goal in the first half however saw the home side go in2-1 up at the break. The Wellmen looked for the equaliser but were dealt a blow in the final few minutes as Hawarden grabbed a third goal to give them a 3-1 win.

Manager Eddie Barry said, "It was a very good display by our young side, and more than matched the team who currently sit in 3rd place."

Next up see's the first team travel to Conwy Borough next Saturday, and the Reserve side face FC Nomads at Halkyn Road on Friday evening.
