The Wellmen face bottom placed Holyhead Hotspur on Saturday looking for a win to begin the climb from the bottom three places in the HGA.

Buoyed by last week’s spirited performance to come back from two goals down against Guilsfield at Halkyn Road, were second half goals by Steve Lewis and Shaun Tuck gave the Wellmen a point, the Wellmen will be up for the trip to Anglesey and will be looking at returning with all three points against the bottom placed side.
The Wellmen may give a debut to new signing Mike Platt, the goalkeeper returning to the Wellmen’s ranks after successful spell during the Wellmen’s treble winning season. Strikers Steve Lewis and Shaun Tuck will be hoping to add to their tally after finding the back of the net last week, whilst recent new signings Matty Hughes and Aaron Pomeyie will be looking to feature in the game, with the Wellmen also having Matty Harvey available for the game after he missed last week’s game due to suspension. Town will look at the fitness of Josh Sheridan who came off last week with a knee injury before including him in the squad.
Saturday’s host have won one and drawn two of their ten games played so far for the season, the Anglesey side beating Prestatyn Town 2-1 at the Oval, and picking up a point each against Buckley Town (3-3 at the Oval) and a creditable draw away to Bangor City (1-1). Town may also face ex player Jamie McDaid who signed for Holyhead Hotspur during the summer.
Games between the sides are always a close affair over on the island, with Town winning 1-0 the last time we visited the island through a Steve Thomas goal early in the second half. Let’s hope for more of the same on Saturday and that the new look Wellmen return with all three points.
There are still seats available on the Supporters Coach and the coach leaves Halkyn Road at 11.45am. Please contact the club if you want to reserve your seat on the coach.
