Despite winning 3-0 against Holyhead Hotspur, Holywell Town were today relegated out of the Huws Gray Alliance League.

Our victory wasn't enough as Penrhyncoch also won against Conwy Borough, which meant the Mid Wales side would be staying up after both teams finished on the same points but Penrhyncoch had a better goal difference.

Five weeks ago, many had already written us off as relegated but the passion and fight amongst the players the past few weeks saw us go through the month of April unbeaten, beating Bangor City, Denbigh Town and Holyhead Hotspur, and drawing against Penrhyncoch and Guilsfield during the month.

It was an agonising 10 minutes at full time for everyone as we waited for news of the Penrhyncoch result, and after being safe with Conwy Borough winning going into the final ten minutes, disappointment soon spread amongst the supporters and players as we learnt Penrhyncoch had equalised, then soon grabbed a late winner and our relegation was confirmed and we will be playing in the Welsh National League next season.

The Club would like to thank the management team and all the players for their efforts, passion and desire this season, and to all the supporters who have followed the Club both home and away for being up there as one of the best set of supporters in North Wales.

We will be back, we will build on this and comeback stronger!! Keep the faith and see you all next season.
