Its matchday and the Wellmen make the journey to Gresford Athletic looking for three points.

Matches between the sides are hard and the Wellmen will have to be on their best to beat Steve Halliwell’s Gresford side who currently placed in 6th position in the Huws Gray Alliance League with 32 points from 22 matches.

The Wellmen will be looking to do the double over Gresford having secured a narrow 1-0 win over them back in September courtesy of Sam Jones goal midway through the second half at Halkyn Road.

The Wellmen will be without goalkeeper Mike Platt and Arron Pomeyie who both go sent off in our last game at Conwy Borough. The Wellmen however welcome new signing Tyler French in goal, along with Mark Winslade who is available after missing the majority of the season up to now.

Speaking to the Evening Leader ahead of the game, Coach Dave Sweet said, “We’ve really stepped up the intensity of training with double sessions in the last few weeks and the lads are now champing at the bit to get back out there.

“It’s a cliche but we’ve got 12 cup finals left this season and the will to get out of this situation is there.

"The lads are ready to push their chests out and face up to it, and nobody’s burying their head in the sand.”

The match kicks off earlier than usual at 2.00pm and the Wellmen are hopeful a large majority of supporters can make the journey to Clappers Lane in Gresford to cheer the lads on.

See you there…..
