Holywell Town travel to Welsh National Side Gresford Athletic on Saturday looking to progress into the next round of the FAW Trophy.

The match has been dubbed the tie of the round as the unbeaten sides from the Welsh Alliance and Welsh National clash knowing something will have to give, and both sides have their eyes on progressing into the Quarter Final of the competition.

Holywell Town won the trophy back in 2010/11 after their 3-2 win over Conwy United in the final, and be one step closer winning the trophy again in what could be the Wellmen's last year of being in the competition. Clubs from Tier 2 are ineligible to play in the FAW Trophy and if Town gain promotion into the Cymru Alliance at the end of this season, they will be ineligible to play next season so lifting the trophy would be a fitting farewell to the competition the club have grown to love over the past few years.

Manager John Haseldin has a bit of a selection headaches as he will be without the suspended Sam Jones following his red card last week at Glan Conwy, and will also be missing Steve Thomas (Hamstring), Shaun Pritchard (cup tied), Luke Tyson (Leg) and will give a late fitness test on Dafydd Griffith and Haseldin has added that it is a shame that his side will not be at full strength.

Haseldin said, "Gresford are flying and it’s the toughest draw we could have had,” he said. “It’s just a shame we’re missing so many players, it’s the worst injury crisis I’ve had in three years as manager"

“If we achieve what we’ve set out to do this season (gain promotion) then we won’t qualify for the Trophy so it’d be great to leave the competition as winners,” he said. “We’ve got a lot of good memories and that final win was special, but we’ll take it one round at a time for now.”

Kick off time tomorrow for the big match is 1.30pm and the postcode for the ground is LL12 8PS.

Fans are urged to leave in plenty of time due to the roadworks which are cauaing problems on the Posthouse Roundabout on the outskirts of Chester. It is suggested fans go turn off the A55 at Dobshill and follow signs for Wrexham until they reach Llay. At the junction with the Crown pub infront of you, go straight over that Junction towards Gresford.Keep going and then turn left at the top of the hill by the Griffin pub. Follow the road around past the church, the Yew Tree pub and chip shop. You then need to take the right immediately after the pond and you will find the ground.

It promises to be a great game and the club are hoping that a large number of Supporters will make the relatively short journey to Gresford to cheer the lads on to victory.
