Manager John Haseldin is delighted to have captured the signing of Tom Donegan from Rhyl FC.

Donegan spent two years at Craven Cottage under Martin Jol before becoming a free agent in July 2003.

Huyton-born Donegan joined Fulham on a two-year contract in 2011, making his senior debut as a second half substitute in a Europa League tie against Northern Ireland side Crusaders.

After a short loan with Farnborough in the Conference, he became a free agent when he was released from Craven Cottage at the end of 2012/13 and joined Rhyl in November 2013 and then moved to newly-promoted Cefn Druids in June 2014.

After a season at The Rock, Donegan (23) returned to Rhyl in July 2015 and made just four appearances this season from a career Welsh Premier total of 47 (+5) which yielded five goals.

Haseldin is pleased with the capture of Donegan and said, "I'm delighted to welcome Tom Donegan to Holywell Town, this is a massive coup for the club and for us to attract this sort of quality player shows how far we have come over the past few years.

He is a midfielder with real class about him, his passing ability is second to none, he can open up defences, score goals and a dead ball specialist. For me he's one of the best young midfielders playing in Wales and I'm really excited to have him on board.

He's had a frustrating time of things this season so far so the most important thing is we get him back playing and enjoying his football again."

Donegan added, "I'm looking forward to coming in and playing my football, I've wanted to enjoy my football again and I believe with John and Holywell it's the best place to do that.

Also Holywell have a good fan base I am looking forward to getting on the pitch and showing them what I can do now.

Donegan's transfer has been completed and registered in time and he is in line to make his debut on Saturday at Llanfair United.
