The club are pleased to announce that Mike Platt and Lee Emberton have signed for the club ahead of the new season.

Mike Platt is a goalkeeper and has had Welsh premier league experience with Bala and Newtown over the last couple of years, and also a successful season at Pen y Cae before that. He's tall ,a great shot-stopper, good with his feet and agile for a big man.

Manager John Haseldin said, "He played for Newtown against Holywell in the Welsh Cup last season and although it was maybe a game he'd like to forget , I'm sure the atmosphere and performance of that day played a big part in his decision to sign for us this year. It's important for Mike to get back playing regular, as a goalkeeper that is critical to their game. He is focused and determined to prove a few people wrong and we are more than happy to give him that opportunity to rebuild his career with us."

Lee Emberton is an attacking left full back who can also operate at centre back . He's been at Airbus since he was 13 and broke into the first team towards the end of last season where he started in games against Newtown and Rhyl.

Haseldin added, "I'm delighted Lee has decided to sign for us this year , he is already a very good player and at only 18 he will only get better. He felt that he needed a change and we had a chat and both feel he can develop even more with us."

Both new players will be featuring in the Club's Pre Season fixtures and the Club would like to welcome both to Holywell Town Football Club.
