Holywell Town 1st Team have confirmed their pre-season fixtures.

The matches are as follows:

14th July 2018 South Liverpool (a) 3.00pm
17th July 2018 Cammell Lairds (a) 7.45pm
21st July 2018 Haughmond FC (a) 12.00pm
24th July 2018 Corwen (h) 7.30pm
31st July 2018 FC Nomads (h) 7.30pm
4th August 2018 Llanrug United (h) 2.30pm

New Manager Gareth Sudlow’s first game in charge will be away to South Liverpool on Saturday 14th July 2018. We faced them last pre-season and beat them 4-3 at their ground. They currently play in the West Cheshire League Division 1 and finished champions of the league last season. It will be a great test for Sudlow’s new look side.

The Wellmen then make the journey to Cammell Laird on Tuesday 17th July for a 7.45pm kick off at their Kirklands ground in Rock Ferry. Laird currently play in the North West Counties League Division One South and last season finished a creditable 6th out of 22 teams.

Next up will be a visit to Shrewsbury to face Haughmond FC on Saturday 21st July with a 12.00 noon kick off. They are currently members of the West Midlands (Regional) League after being relegated last season from the Premier Division of their league. The Club was formed in 1980 and currently play their matches at Shrewsbury Sports Village.

The Wellmen first Pre-Season game at home will be against Corwen on Tuesday 24th July. Corwen play in the Welsh National League Premier Division where they finished 3rd in the League. We faced Corwen last Season in the first round of the Welsh Cup and ran out 3-0 winners courtesy of a brace of goals by Steve Lewis and a Jamie McDaid strike. Again, Sudlow’s first game in the home dugout will be a tough one but it will be the first time most of the Wellmen supporters will get to see the new look side.

A week later, we welcome FC Nomads to Halkyn Road on the 31st July. FC Nomads also play in the Welsh National League and finished the season in 12th place, which was disappointing for them.

Our final Pre-Season game see’s us face Llanrug United of the Welsh Alliance League. It has been a few seasons since the sides met since our promotion to the Huws Gray Alliance, and the last match between us was the Mawddach Cup Final at Bangor where the Wellmen ran out winners in Extra Time to lift the cup. Matches between the sides have always been close and this will most probably be the same.

Travel directions to the away games will be mentioned nearer the games and any updates or amendments will be published on the Website.

Pre-season friendlies for the Reserve Team will be announced in due course.
