Holywell Town Football Club presents a Fans v Legends match at Halkyn Road on Sunday 12th April 2015.

The match, which kicks off at 1.00pm, will see past 'Legends' who have played for the club over the years up against 'Fans' of the club.

Names have been released today of some of the players who will be playing for the sides and the 'Legends' team will see names such as Dave Walsh, Chris Milroy, Jimmy Griffiths, Dave 'Ginge' Williams, Darren Wilde, John Haseldin, Gwydion Meurig, Darren Horne and Owain Roberts once again putting on their football boots at Halkyn Road. More names will be announced ahead of the game.

The 'Fans' team will have Andy Lewis, Gavin Marshall, Shaun Bedford, Danny Hughes, Chris 'Curly' Jones, Jamie Foulkes, Gary Emberton, Adie Crofts, Ben Williams, Johnny Williams, Danny Williams, James Roberts, Anthony Roberts, Tim Davies and Ben Lewis in it's squad, and the 'Fans' Team would like to put one over the Holywell Town 'Legends' who have graced Halkyn Road over the years. Like the 'Legends' Team, more names will be announced throughout the week.

The Match has been organised by Justin Evans and Mike Thomas, and Justin added, "It will be good to see some old faces back at Halkyn Road and the match is being played for a good cause with all the money raised being donated to Ruth Cartwright's Great Wall of China walk for St Kentigern's Hospice. I'm hoping that it will be a good turnout for the game and the match promises to be an afternoon of fun and laughter!"

Mike Thomas said, "It's great that we are raising money for St Kentigern Hospice, and as Ruth's trip is self funded, all the money raised during the game will go to the charity. Ruth has a close affinity with Holywell Town Football Club and I'm sure I can count on your Support".

Ruth Cartwright is walking the Great Wall of China in aid of St Kentigern Hospice's 20th Anniversary in memory of her Mum, Jane Cartwright, who sadly passed away in 2012.

On Ruth's Just Giving page, she added, "Following previous events to raise money for St Kents, I have decided I do not want to stop now. To celebrate their 20th Anniversary this year they are organising a trek along the Great Wall of China, so I have decided to go along!!

I can not thank this facility and the staff who work there enough for the fantastic care they gave my mum and my family during a very difficult time. My hope is that from the effort, the publicity and the hard work following this event, the hospice will be in the position to carry on for another 20 years to help families such as mine."

The match will hopefully be well attended and we will be entertained to an afternoon of fun, laughter and a few shocks and surprises along the way, as well as raising money for a good cause.

The Club would like to thanks Simon Newport for agreeing to be the match referee on Sunday.

Please show your support and hopefully we will see you all on Sunday!
